Support
markbird is a local-first Markdown editor: your documents are stored in your browser and only leave your device when you sign in for sync or share a document. Here is how to reach us and manage your account and data.

Account & data deletion
Anonymous, local use of markbird needs no account — no data is sent to us in that mode. If you have signed in, you can delete your account and all associated cloud data at any time from inside the app: open the account menu → “Account & data” → Delete. This removes your account, your synced documents, and any server-side share-link copies.
Known limitations
- Real-time collaboration is best-effort and depends on a stable connection.
- Sync is last-write-wins across devices.
- Share links store a copy of the document on the server until they expire or are revoked.
FAQ
Where are my documents stored?
By default, solely in your browser (IndexedDB and localStorage). Without signing in or
sharing, nothing leaves your device.
What happens when I sign in?
Your documents are additionally stored in Google Cloud Firestore (EU) so they sync
across your devices. Signing in is optional.
What happens when I share a link?
A copy of that document is placed on our servers (EU) so recipients can open it. You can
set an expiry date and revoke links at any time.
